Touring almost perpetually for several years now I'm
very much inspired by variety and in approaching each
performance/project /recording as a unique event. I often
perform solo and also with many others in a wide variety
of sizes and combinations sometimes with dance, poetry,
and/or film, composition, song and/or free improvisation.
A performance might be almost completely saturated in
dissonance, abstraction and velocity, or original melodies
and modes, a combination of both, and/or something else
entirely. Sometimes with much silence or none at all.

I perform in concert halls, warehouses, squats, universities,
jazz and rock clubs and festivals, the desert surrounding the
Nevada nuclear test site on Shoshone land, on t.v., radio
and in riots. I've played in West-African drumming troups,
gamelan orchestras, punk bands, as the soloist in piano
concertos and many free egalitarian improv ensembles, with
famous people, infamous people, unknowns, academics,
prisoners, old masters and children, often only for
myself and birds, sometimes only in my mind.

I make music that I hope stimulates the mind and
the body, that's intellectual and sexy and meditative
and ferocious and poetic and athletic and revolutionary
and spiritual and political and loving and that will shake
people awake, starting with me first.
