Somuchheaven Somuchhell is a live recording of a solo concert in
Nantes - February 10th, 2007. With both precision and passion he
weaves together some of the vibrant musical cultures of this world. A
pianist that is known otherwise as an avante-gardist and a free
improviser Thollem traverses a phenomenal range of sounds in his
original compositions: Latin jazz, blues, abstract classical, lyrical waltz,
piano punk, African modes, free jazz, and much more. It is an intention
to bring together many different colors and voices. This is a fusion of
concepts, sounds, and patterns of different musical languages. This
blue-collar virtuoso pulls it off eloquently, one piece leading naturally to
the next, sharing his reverence for musical thought around the world.
This is the first volume in a series of albums that he is calling
ExperimentalWorldBlues.
